TMKOC Producer Asit Kumarr Modi Denies Allegations Of Sexual Harassment Charges Against Him; Says, ‘Not Aware If FIR Is Registered’
One of the longest running shows on Indian television, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been making the headlines for over a month now for all the wrong reasons. After coming under fire for mistreating the actors and not paying their dues, actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who essayed the role of Mrs. Roshan Singh Sodhi for the past 15 years, quit the show and alleged the makers of mental and sexual harassment. Now, hours after an FIR (First Information Report) was registered, producer Asit Kumarr Modi has denied all the allegations.

In an interview with a vernacular channel, the producer of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah denied the allegations and shared that he has given his statement to the police. He went on to add that he is unaware if an FIR has been registered against him. Quoted by ABP News, the producer, Tuesday evening, said, “I deny all allegations and have given my statement to the police. I am not aware if FIR is registered. For the unversed, an FIR was registered against producer Asit Kumarr Modi, operation head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj under sections 354 and 509 (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the IPC (Indian Penal Code). In an interaction with ETimes, Jennifer had confirmed the news. She had revealed that after patiently waiting for over a month, she went to the Powai police station again on Monday night. She spent about 5 hours before the FIR was finally registered. Following her example, actresses Priya Ahuja Rajda, Monika Bhadoriya and former director Malav Rajda too opened up about the injustice they had to face at the hands of the makers of the show.
